I'm not a doctor, and I don't even play one on TV. But students often ask for my opinion on this subject. Why? Probably because the Kung Fu tradition (which includes Qigong and Tai Chi) contains a lot of wisdom. And in the 21st century, I think that this kind of ancient wisdom is precisely what we sometimes need to hear.
Personally, I don't get into very many sword fights these days. Even battle-axe and spear fights seem to be on the decline. Be that as it may, I still find it exceedingly useful to train as though I'm going to be in a sword fight someday soon.
Wouldn't you like to know their secret? I mean, if you had that kind of discipline, you could make amazing changes, build healthy new habits, eliminate bad ones, and create the life you dream of! I'll reveal their secret, and it may very well change your life. But I'm warning you: You're probably going to be surprised.
The longer I teach, the more I think that gratitude is the big secret of life. If you want more health, wealth, or happiness, then gratitude is something that you should practice daily.
You've learned Qigong or Tai Chi from a good teacher, and you've been practicing for some time. You've gotten good results, but you still have a few lingering health problems. The strangest thing is that other people have been able to overcome those same problems using Qigong and Tai Chi. And yet you can't seem to do the same for yourself. Why?
