Good for you for practicing for so many years, Ralf.

As you read through my website, you'll quickly see that qigong is far more than just a series of warmup exercises. It can also be medicine, but only when it's done properly.

This article might be a good start: http://flowingzen.com/15937/the-15-most-frequently-asked-questions-about-qigong/

I've been practicing Tai Chi and Ba Gua for years and religiously practice a set of exercises I learned from my various teachers, which are different for each discipline and are designed to loosen up, especially stretching the tendons. I stress the importance of warm up exercises before doing Tai Chi to my students no matter what the style but especially for the more demanding styles like Chen or Guang Ping Yang, which have "low tiger" and "low lotus" moves or high kicks. Sadly, I have to admit that I have not studied "Chi Gong" until recently and it became immediately obvious that I had actually been doing it for 30 years in the form of Chinese warm up exercises without knowing it!

ah, I see you are correct. I turned something you said into something totally different, but related in a certain way. It's like I was doing mainstream media "journalism". Thank you for correcting me.

CrossFit injures a Large percent of participants, too. That's the secret truth about it. So overall, I agree with you. However , to claim tc and cq are better training for the heart and lungs ... I have to ask how you could claim that.... there are So Many ways CF comes in second, but that claim .....oh boy.....
