Hi Anthony, I have read this article several times over the last 4 years or so. No doubt I will do so several more times. Each time is beneficial as the concepts are super-important and I gain something each time. Thank you.

In reply to Richard.

Hi Richard. Why do you think that lost qi cannot be depleted? In my experience, it can. But most people underestimate how much effort is required to replenish it.

As for entanglement, I haven't noticed anything beyond the bi-directional flow of energy between myself and my student. I don't have any evidence showing that there is a long term entanglement.

If you take on bad energy, which I have experienced, then you need to cleanse it using qi circulation techniques. In my school, we use Flowing Breeze Swaying Willow. I have not found anything that comes even close to this for that purpose.

Thanks for the article. I have a couple of questions on Dimension12:Transmitting the Qi

Transmitting energy to others carries a cost in terms of using your own supply of qi which can get depleted. The usual reply is to practice more qigong to replenish your lost qi and it's debatable as to whether you can really restore all of your depleted qi.

Transmitting energy to another person creates the inevitable energy entanglement between you and the other person and opens you to receiving various undesirable energies from the other person which gets stored in you and eventually causes problems. The usual reply to this is to perform some some form of energetic hygiene to eliminate the undesirable energies from your being.

What are your comments on these concerns?

Thank you for writing this. It is so interesting and it demystifies qi without emptying it of it's inherent magic. It's great to have a map. Thank you. More is always welcome and when you feel it is timely to give us access to it. I am so enjoying this course, one of the best decisions I made this year so far. :)

Thank you for the advice to use Smiling From The Heart to dispel 1000 thoughts, Purifying the Qi is the skill I need most. Oh those pesky junk thoughts accumulated over 80 years.
Impossible for me to express how much joy the 101 class is giving me and how wonderful my long time practice of Tai Chi has become.

This is really really helpful....it helps put the development of teachings into perspective. I have been very curious why some techniques I don't fell much qi and pushing mountains is really strong (in a soft way!). It will be a good one for me to eventually try the different skills. SOOO much to learn and really enjoying the process. I am glad to have the greater framework for the many pieces. It reminds me of how some work on memory....to remember one thing, create or learn a story around it....
