<p>One of the birthday napkins had the following written on it:  &#8220;I&#8217;m not aging, I&#8217;m evolving.&#8221;  It&#8217;s a funny quote, but when I saw it, I thought to myself, &#8220;That&#8217;s true!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/389747_10151012546946410_731413944_n.jpg"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" class="size-thumbnail wp-image-4104 alignright" title="sifu-and-wendy-birthday" src="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/389747_10151012546946410_731413944_n-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150" alt="" width="150" height="150" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/389747_10151012546946410_731413944_n.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/389747_10151012546946410_731413944_n.jpg?zoom=2&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/389747_10151012546946410_731413944_n.jpg?zoom=3&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 450w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>I&#8217;m willing to bet that most people my age don&#8217;t feel as good as I do. I think most 40-year-olds feel that they are gradually getting worse.  I don&#8217;t.  Thanks to Qigong and Tai Chi, I&#8217;m getting better and better.  And it&#8217;s not just wishful thinking.  I&#8217;m happier than ever, but I&#8217;m also healthier, stronger, faster, leaner, more flexible, more powerful, and more successful.</p>
<p><a href="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/547729_10151012550461410_2120193066_n.jpg"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" class="size-thumbnail wp-image-4112 alignleft" title="40th-surprise-part-group" src="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/547729_10151012550461410_2120193066_n-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150" alt="" width="150" height="150" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/547729_10151012550461410_2120193066_n.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/547729_10151012550461410_2120193066_n.jpg?zoom=2&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/547729_10151012550461410_2120193066_n.jpg?zoom=3&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 450w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>I&#8217;m amazed at people who, at age 60, act old.  Often, when I ask them if they&#8217;re ready to get rid of their pain and illness, they look at me like I&#8217;m crazy.  &#8220;I&#8217;m just getting old,&#8221; they argue. &#8220;It&#8217;s normal!&#8221;  Well, then I&#8217;m happy to be abnormal, and I&#8217;m happy to have helped many, many 60-year-olds to become happier and healthier than they were at 50.</p>
<p><a href="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/599816_10151012546796410_1668223320_n.jpg"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-thumbnail wp-image-4105 alignright" title="40th-surprise-party" src="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/599816_10151012546796410_1668223320_n-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150" alt="" width="150" height="150" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/599816_10151012546796410_1668223320_n.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/599816_10151012546796410_1668223320_n.jpg?zoom=2&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/flowingzen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/599816_10151012546796410_1668223320_n.jpg?zoom=3&amp;resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 450w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>Practicing Qigong and Tai Chi keeps me young.  It&#8217;s not just figurative.  My body, my biochemistry, my cells &#8212; everything is younger as a result of practicing these arts.  And not just younger, but more evolved.</p>
<p>For example, I&#8217;m happier than ever &#8212; happier than even when I was a child.  Although I was healthy as a child, I wasn&#8217;t as highly evolved mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  Today, I&#8217;ve got the best of both worlds because I&#8217;m both healthy and happy.</p>
<p>They say that youth is wasted on the young.  By the time most people are mature enough to truly appreciate life, they don&#8217;t have enough energy or vitality to do so.  That may be true for most people, but not me.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m going to live to 120.  I say this to my students all the time, and they laugh.  Some of them probably think I&#8217;m kidding, but those who know me, those who have been with me for a few years know that I&#8217;m serious.  I plan to live to 120, and to live well!</p>
<p>What about you?</p>
