Going down the rabbit hole and found myself here...

When you explained the metaphor of a tight guitar string being plucked...

I think that's half of it

I have only practiced a few months (1/week) classes of Tai Chi long slow yang
But I'm extremely observant and can see what many miss... My jungling friends and anyone doing slight of hand magic ... They hate how observant I am

If I visualize what you wrote...
It sounds like the act of unlocking a path through the muscles, putting the energetic string into alignment, tightening it and then plucking it
Feeling that resonance of energy

Ha!! Or maybe more accurately like the multi step Chinese puzzle boxes
Specific moves to unlock vs a sort of key and lock

Slowly exposing the string of energy, to then be plucked
As you fine tune the movements, the cord has more space open to resonate at and give more of an energetic rush

Doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong
I'm just excited you got me thinking
Thank you 💜

The book named "Shaolin Yi Jin Jing" and it is really old. I only having a digital version of its by someone who willing to take picture on all pages of the book. I don't know how authentic the other 12 sitting methods are. The only thing that the author said is the 2 different sets are come from the same sets and the sitting set is practice only after the standing sets have been done for 3 years. Also practicing the whole 2 sets will result with the ability of hardening the body with will.

Sifu,
In my country i found a book of 24 posture of Sinew Metamorphosis. The whole sets can be separate into two different practice. The first 12 postures was the one you showed in the post. The other 12 postures is sitting postures that require internal movement (moving qi) in certain ways. The book highly emphasize the martial power the whole sets could help the practitioner progess to. So do you know anything about the other 12 postures and what do your view upon them?

In reply to <a href="https://flowingzen.com/sinew-metamorphosis-qigong/#comment-57324">Ludo Cools</a>.

Hi Ludo. Zhan Zhuang is completely still, and much more relaxed than Yi Jin Jing (Sinew Metamorphosis).

Neigong is simply another word for more internal and quiescent forms of qigong.

Does that help make things clearer?

Looks as if this comes close to Zhan Zhuang, which look static but is very dynamic in a very subtle way. And close to Nei Gong too. Or do I make a beginners fault now?
