Amy, I'm so sorry that you had such a negative experience.

Try this, and I think you'll have a much more positive experience: https://flowingzen.mykajabi.com/p/learn-the-best-qigong-exercise-ever

Thank you thank you for this article, from the bottom of my heart.

Back in 2016 I had started Tai Chi. But I couldn't understand why after every session I felt worse. Horribly-SICK-in-bed kind of worse.

I was depleted of all energy. Shaky. Exhausted. On the verge of total collapse.

And then FINALLY, thanks to your incredible wisdom, I realize that the problem was my Teacher all along!

He would obsess on our form. He would go round each student and point out all the flaws. "Your knee is not high enough. Your stance is not low enough. Your back should be straight. No you have to be this, not that." And on and on it went. As a Type-A personality with OCD on doing everything perfectly, this used to make me even more OCD.

By my 7th session I had to stop. My health was in shambles by that time. But my question is this - why was I the ONLY one to feel such bad effects? I am afraid to give Tai Chi a try again because of this negative experience.

Hi. In my opinion, all anxiety traces back to the root problem of a Monkey Mind out of control. This is why mindfulness and meditation are the real solution to anxiety. For me, it was my Monkey Mind, plus life stress, that triggered my anxiety.

Hello,

Thanks for posting this.
Was your anxiety induced for no reason or was there a reason(s) why anxiety was trigerred? My anxiety is triggered because of thinking of problems in my life-I have yet to find a way to calm my mind from thinking too much,

Awesome post! I really like that you mentioned taking small easy steps! I noticed for me that watching the sky, staring out the window, and watching a candle burn are ways for me to meditate easily.

It amazes me how well you describe anxiety and why sitting meditation is not optimal. Thank you so much for this!
