Hi Sifu, I am thinking of starting this but I was wondering if I can do the counting leaves exercise at noon due to accommodate my work schedule? Before that will not be possible. Will it hamper my progress? Thanks

Hi Kimberly. When I originally learned the exercises, it was 2 weeks per stage. Each stage would last maybe 2-5 minutes.

These days, it seems like students can take a more casual approach and still get good results. In fact, they often get better results because they remain more consistent this way. So you can jump around, you can spend longer with one stage if it feels right, or you can do them all. The most important thing is to stay consistent over time.

Hi Sifu,

We are enjoying the course very much and have the same question as Marisol above- it looks like her question got skipped in 2018:

"Hi!
Im just a little bit confused about the stages…how long is each one. I mean should I practice closing for 2 weeks..then move to excersise1 for 2 weeks? then mkve to excersise2 for another 2 weeks ans so on..
Or do all the stages at once?"

The videos or the written article don't seem to have specific directions on when to do each- do we need to build up with each exercise or start them all at once? Is the closing sequence actually supposed to be done first here, or is it always last?

Thank you!

In reply to <a href="https://flowingzen.com/fix-your-eyesight-with-qigong/#comment-67304">Henry</a>.

Hi Henry. Unfortunately, I don't know if these exercises will help with a detached retina. I think you should show the article to your doctor and ask him if the exercises could possibly do any harm. Assuming that he gives you the green light, you are free to try the exercises.

They will definitely help bring qi to your eyes, which is a good thing on many levels. This will help the healing process. So I think the exercises will work for you, but you have to be clear that "work" does not equal "cure".

I think that the 5-Phase Routine is also very important. If you are only doing these exercises without the 5-Phase Routine, then your results will be less.

Hello, I’ve been interested in qigong for quite sometime I have a massage therapist that practices this:.
I had a retina detachment last year and I just had another detachment in my same eye last week. Feeling down. I’m only 30 years old And I’m trying to try anything to strengthen my eye and heal my eye so this does not happen again..

Will this work for me? I had -6 in my detached eye and is healing now who knows it may be worse after.. and my good eye is -3
