Great article! 😊 Love the balance wheels!

You shared precisely what I have been experiencing in my healing journey.

I was misdiagnosed with lots of non answers until my wizard good acupuncturist figured out I had Late Stage Lyme Disease. This was confirmed by a Lyme doc, who has Lyme himself, but all he could offer was "six months to twenty years" on a molotov cocktail of antiobiotics and prescriptions to manage symptoms.

Um...no thanks.

I believe you CAN heal from Lyme. Heal. Not remission. Not management. HEAL.

And I am! I am using Acupuncture, qi gong, herbalism (both TCM and western), diet, homeopathy, nature, our animals, spiritual connection, meditation, gratitude, stress reduction, writing, and some major life changes. And I am healing! There's more tweaking, of course, as "lessons" progress and energy shifts, but it is working.

Best benefit? The sickness label doesn't matter at all! Restoring energy flow does not have to be done under the banner of a particular illness.

In fact, NOT wedding yourself to a label of a particular illness is in itself a powerful form of healing. Identifying yourself by a label and limiting your life because of it anchors your symptoms.

Yes, I tested positive for Lyme, but I am also resolving the whole picture: clinical depression, PTSD/CPTSD, pain issues, boundary issues, and no-one-was-designed-to-live-that-way issues.

All the good things we take on doing cannot compete against the imbalance we go creating by not letting go of what is harming us or does not serve us. A lot of healing is learning to let go of that which depletes us and embrace that which nourishes us. That naturally means change.

I agree with you 100% on western medicine being ruled by Big Pharma.

I would also add that it is fear based. Just look at all those ads for drugs! And the way they keep lowering thresholds so people think they must take more drugs to live. It is like scaring someone into drinking Drano to cure their athlete's foot.

The energy is that of fear, which, as I understand it, means kidney imbalance. Depleted kidney jing affects the heart, among other things, and leads to, well, death eventually.

I am grateful for what western medicine does well, like setting limbs and surgery. Healing, however, is not their forte!

Thank God for acupuncture and "alternative" healing and those who practice it! Onward and upward!

Hi Robin. Forgiveness is a huge subject. I need to write some blog posts (or maybe a book) on it!

The shift in perspective has been very helpful to me. But, while I understand what forgiveness isn't, I still struggle at times with what it is. Is it as simple as letting go of the *hurt* and any need to have that hurt rectified or justified?

In reply to <a href="https://flowingzen.com/12-ways-to-get-healthier-on-a-budget/#comment-2091">Mark</a>.

Mark, that's a big shift for a lot of people. But if you think about it logically, your current paradigm -- where you think that forgiveness includes condoning what the person did -- makes little sense. If you condoned what they did, then why would you need to forgive them?

If, for example, I feel that Dan did a terrible thing and hurt me badly by lying to me 20 years ago -- then it's obvious that I don't condone what he did. I think it was wrong. But if, 20 years later, I'm still hurting from what Dan did, then it's because I haven't forgiven him. It still hurts not because of what he did, but because I myself am holding on to those feelings.

Excellent page. Thank you.

I'm still trying to let your forgiveness advice sink in:

'It is critical to understand that forgiving someone doesn’t mean that you condone what they did'.

This is a big shift for me, and different to how I viewed forgiveness.

This might take a while to register/sink in. But I'm sure it'll be very helpful, and freeing longer term.

Thank you.
