What is
Chi Kung Therapy?
Chi Kung Therapy, sometimes called
"Medical Chi Kung", is an ancient
Chinese form of energy healing. The type of therapy that
I do is unique, and it involves a combination of the following:
- Stimulating and open vital energy points
- Opening energy channels
- Transmittin my own energy to clear blockages
- Channeling energy to "fill" a depleted meridian
- Teaching custom-tailored Chi Kung exercises specific
to the problem
- Helping to customize practice routines
- Reviewing a student's progress
- Answering personal practice questions
What
does a session feel like?
The beauty of Chi Kung Therapy is that
it is totally non-invasive. There are no needles, no machines,
and often no touching whatsoever! The client either stands,
sits on a chair, or lies on a massage table. Sometimes I
move my hands above an area; other times, I place them gently
on a specific area.
How
does it feel?
It depends on the techniques used. With
certain techniques, people
say that they feel a soothing warmth coming from
my hands. With other techniques, people say that they feel
tingling or internal movement in their body. Sometimes,
people feel very little during the session, but see noticeable
results during the days or weeks following the session.
What
kind of results can I expect?
Clients with chronic pain often feel
a reduction of pain within the session itself. Some clients
find that the pain melts away during a single session.
With other clients, it may take several sessions to get lasting
results. Each client is unique, as is their state of health.
It is difficult to determine just how many treatments a client
will need. As a rough guide, clients usually see tangible
improvements in 2-4 sessions. Pain is often relieved in the
first visit, but it may return without follow-up visits.
What about non-physical
blockages?
An area where people often seem
to need the most help is with what I call "perspective".
Many people find that chatting with me privately significantly
helps them to regain perspective. I have watched
these arts heal hundreds of students
worldwide. And, of course, I healed myself using
the same arts. Often, when I share my experiences face-to-face,
students will gain confidence in their own ability to heal.
This is an important but often overlooked aspect of healing.
But
I don't believe in energy healing!
That's
perfectly reasonable. I myself did not believe in
this stuff ten years ago. Skeptics are welcome to try a
session, and feel the results for themselves. My own father
was a skeptic, but I still took away his back pain. After
the session, he could hardly believe that the pain was
gone. He didn't necessarily understand what I had
done, but he could not deny that his pain was gone.
I
don't know any Tai Chi or Chi Kung.
This therapy
is for everyone. It is not just for my Flowing Zen students.
If someone is in pain, this is a great way to expose them
to what I do. Generally speaking, clients will benefit
more if they also practice on their own, but this is optional.
The beauty of this therapy is that it can be completely passive
for the client, whereas Cosmos Chi Kung cannot.
How
does it work?
According to Chi Kung theory,
all pain is a result of energy blockage. I use my own
energy as a catalyst to clear blockages and restore the smooth
flow of energy. In short, I use various techniques to restore
yin-yang harmony.
What's the most important
about Chi Kung Therapy?
That it works.
How
much does it cost?
The suggested
donation is $65
per session ($50 for full-time students). Each session
lasts about 50 minutes.
